Vol. 1

Filmed in Holliday Park, “Say Yes,”  #3 of a 6 piece collection, was choreographed by our lead artist, André Williams. Originally written for stage, “Say Yes” is a dynamic piece written for four. As it jumps through a variety of styles, it speaks to the thought of accepting the challenges in front of you, and the possibilities on the other side of being open and willing to change and develop.

Thank you to Phoenix Rising Dance Studios for the use of rehearsal space and support in the process of putting this together.

Filmed against Indy Skyline and beautiful views from a local Indy parking garage, “Trust, Falling Free,” was choreographed by our lead artist, André Williams. This piece was written and refined over 1month of careful preparation and 2months of rehearsal and studio work.

Written as a solo, this piece was conceptualized and focused on trust, and allowing the soloist to experiment to the extremes of their ability. Based in Contemporary/Modern movement, this effortless dance lays atop of a great musical landscape by Moses Sumney, that allows the viewer to follow the soloist in her extremes. Often times in the process choreographer, André Williams finds himself entrapped in the movement following the dancers lines and pushing her to trust her body more throughout the process.

“Life is constantly presenting so many amazing opportunities that we feel we are undeserving of, or haven’t worked hard enough for. This piece is a reminder to trust the process, trust your skill, and most importantly allow the pieces to fall into place and allow yourself to live in the present and embrace each moment, challenge, and opportunity. If it falls upon your journey, its meant to be there for a reason; Trust and Fall.”
